About Alegria
After caring for elderly parents in a long term care setting we realized the value and need for young and old to interact with animals. We also have years of experience in working in healthcare and hospitals. We want to share our love of animals with adults and children, bringing the unique benefits of human-animal interaction into the lives of those that need it most.
Located on private property in Bush, Louisiana Alegria Ranch is
surrounded by beautiful rolling hills and situated in the middle of horse country, Alegria Ranch is a secret gem. Our property has majestic forests and lush pastures. We have a beautiful custom built horse barn and all-purpose arena for the equestrian enthusiast.
Our Animals
We have full size and mini horses and donkeys, goats, sheep and a potbellied pig named Luca. We also have chickens, super friendly dogs, barn cats named Sebastian and Sebrina, and Brad Pitt our handsome rooster. The animals are loving, caring, calm even in all kinds of situations and love to be petted or admired from a distance.
They go through hours of rigorous training, desensitizing them to every sound, smell, movement, and physical interaction. They are accustomed to wheelchairs and other equipment.
The minis stand about 34 inches tall and have the composition of a standard horse. They are loving, caring, calm even in the most chaotic situations and love to be petted or admired from a distance. Our minis are registered emotional support animals, they have been cleared by a veterinarian, are vaccinated and have participated in a rigorous training program....and they LOVE attention!
